Course details
A relaxed online art club, to spark creativity, explore new ideas and have fun making art with no pressure.

Led by two tutors with distinct but complementary practices, participants will be encouraged to work in different ways. Iona works with familiar objects in a loose, instinctive way, bringing focus to composition and intuitive colour expression, while Camilla introduces a more abstract approach, guiding participants to experiment with colour, form, and mark-making to create expressive, interpretive compositions.
In the four sessions of our fourth online art club series, we will delve into the Figure – exploring how it can stand alone or serve as a dynamic element within a larger composition. There will be a gentle introduction to colour and working with both wet and dry media, we’ll explore line, pattern and texture and the different stages of building a painting. More information on the sessions will be coming soon.
Each session is designed to be fun and relaxed, giving you the chance to switch off, unwind, and enjoy dedicated time for your creativity—something you can dive into and stay inspired by. Within the sessions there will be warm-up exercises and gentle direction to ease you in. Draw and paint in real time alongside the tutor, using inspiration from your own surroundings or the same reference materials they provide. We’ll wrap up each session by looking at the work of other artists, such as Rose Hilton and Bonnard to spark ideas and deepen your learning.
You’ll also have the opportunity to share your work on our Facebook page and connect with fellow participants, helping you build confidence and feel part of a supportive creative community.
The sessions will take place at 6pm (1.5 hours) on:
Wednesday 7th October 2026
Wednesday 14th October 2026
Wednesday 21st October 2026

Do I need a webcam/any equipment?
For our webinar sessions which are broadcast on the internet and no webcam or microphone is needed as you just need to be able to see/hear hosts and you can communicate using the chat function. You can watch using a PC, Smart TV or tablet. A phone isn’t ideal as you will struggle to see enough unless you can miracast to a screen or smart TV.
For the longer online courses on Zoom you will need a laptop or tablet with audio and camera enabled so you can have a screen near where you are working. If you have a PC without camera or speakers, you can purchase a plug and play webcam for approx £25 which connects to a usb port. You will also need reasonable broadband connection and speed.
All the art materials and equipment needed to participate in the course will be listed in full on the online learning platform, for live webinars this will be a minimum of two weeks before the session starts.
