Our Youth Programme

We start working with children from the
age of 7 and love to build positive and lasting relationships from childhood through to teenage years and beyond – for life.

Culture CampSt Ives School of Painting’s Culture Camp is a youth initiative established in 2017. It aims to open the doors of St Ives’ cultural institutions to young people otherwise without access. Led by artists, they take part in a week of workshops, gallery visits and talks, opening their eyes to the possibilities of art. Bronze Arts Award is embedded in the project which gives young people a nationally recognised qualification.
SUNDAY CLUB 7-12 This is a Kids Art Club like no other, where children get to work on easels and use the same high art quality materials as our adults courses. They are taught by experienced artist tutors and start to take their first steps as Young Artists.
Porthmeor Art Collective 13-16sIn 2021, emerging artist Caleb Richards led two projects which formed the Porthmeor Art Collective. In the second phase, the artwork that the young artists created was exhibited in St Ives in November, in the exhibition ‘Quest for Paradise’. It had over 80 visitors and included a Private View where young people were presented with certificates and School of Painting sketchbooks.
