You will work in a variety of media and Natalie will introduce you to process of monoprinting. Learn how a landscape can be captured through observation, memory and feeling. With time spent both outside in the landscape and in the studio you will work towards creating a series of intuitive pieces.

Natalie will be exploring the idea of working on maps and nautical charts in this workshop so if have a chosen landscape that you wish to explore, she invites you to bring in any maps that relate to that location.

Taught by

Letting go of attachment to outcomes is an important element of my practice and teaching. I begin by gathering visual and sensory information, recording what I can on paper, then editing and simplifying back in the studio and using this to inform new pieces. By keeping myself curious I can step away from the idea of ‘making a painting’ and simply enjoy the process of exploring and letting the materials guide me.

What to Bring

All materials are provided including a portfolio folder to take your work home with you. As we plan to work outdoors for some of the duration of the workshop (weather depending), please wear sensible shoes and bring a coat or sunhat as appropriate.
