Course details

Is there something stopping you from drawing, maybe you are lacking the confidence to put pencil to paper and draw the things that you want to?

Many people think that being able to draw is a magical gift that you have to be born with; like a superpower. But this is a huge misconception and is one of the biggest obstacles to enjoying drawing.

Artist Steven Buckler is an experienced artist, teacher, illustrator and animator. He believes ‘Everyone can draw’ and this half day workshop will put the fear that you may have of starting a drawing behind you.

Working from objects in the studio and observing shape, form, tone and texture, Steven will help you learn the foundations of observational drawing, to enable you to feel confident in drawing what you like, so that you come away from the course with a technique that can be applied to whatever you choose to draw.

Please note: This is an adult workshop, however we would welcome children aged 14 or over, if accompanied by a paying adult. This is the case as we cannot guarantee that all our tutors have been DBS checked.

My work is about more than the landscape, it’s about the sense of being in it. The atmosphere, the light and the colour. For me it is about drawing and painting these bits of our landscape that are normally edited out of our perception and experience.
