Vase of Amaryllis, 1941 by Henri Matisse

A relaxed session on Porthminster beach, for the St Ives Food and Drink Festival. Come and find us on the beach, we will be just in front of the community tent near the lifeguard hut.

Our experienced tutor Victoria Gillow, will guide you in creating your own Cornish version of Matisse’s still life, where simple planes of colour, shape and pattern come together. An enjoyable short workshop which will give you core skills you can develop and have fun with.

Working from a still life set up and using basic tools and techniques, Victoria will guide you in mixing colours and creating a simple still life composition. By the end of the workshop, you will have your very own Cornish Riviera still life painting inspired by Matisse.

Advance booking recommended but come and find us on the beach and we may still have space.

Please note: This is an adult workshop. In addition, young adults 16+ are more than welcome to come on this workshop.
