Course details
Take a pause from day-to-day life and step into a more mindful way of painting, tuning into both your surroundings and your own creative rhythm.

Inspired by the unique atmosphere of St Ives, this workshop invites you to slow down, observe closely, and respond intuitively through drawing and paint.
Spend some time on Porthmeor Beach, sketching and collecting natural and man-made objects, before returning to the studio to develop your ideas in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Following examples by Kitty, explore various ways forward in drawing and painting. Experiment with colour, texture and relief, transforming your beach sketches and observations of your found objects into abstract acrylic paintings, reflecting the sights and sounds around St Ives, gathered during your walk.
This is a space to experiment without pressure, build confidence, and reconnect with the enjoyment of making. Suitable for all levels, the workshop encourages a playful and personal approach, helping you to create work that feels both expressive and considered.
This workshop is available as either a half-day or a full-day experience, the longer format allows for more in-depth exploration and extended painting time.
Please note: This is an adult workshop, however we would welcome children aged 14 or over, if accompanied by a paying adult. This is the case as we cannot guarantee that all our tutors have been DBS checked.
