This fun painting workshop is for 7-13 year olds. Young artists will dive into a world of bold colour and playful shapes, inspired by Patrick Heron.

Young artists will discover how colour can tell a story and create mood while learning fun techniques for layering, blending, and contrasting tones. They will be encouraged to work on their own abstract paintings, building confidence in their creative choices.
This workshop takes place upstairs at the St Ives School of Painting, just across the courtyard from Studio 5 at Porthmeor Studios, where Patrick Heron once worked. It offers a unique chance for children to explore art in a playful, supportive environment while feeling connected to this rich creative history.
For children aged 7-13, these Summer workshops are like no other, where children get to work in our studio overlooking the sea and use the same high art quality materials as our adult courses. They are taught by experienced artist tutors and leave feeling inspired with beautiful work. An ideal opportunity for your children to channel their inner artist, in our historic studios, whilst you relax.
