A fun afternoon workshop exploring bold colour, strong composition and expressive mark-making in acrylic paint.

This lively workshop offers a fresh perspective on acrylic painting, encouraging a bold and expressive approach. Working from a vibrant still life, you’ll explore how to build strong compositions, use colour with intention, and develop a greater sense of confidence in your work.

Through a series of short, guided exercises, you’ll experiment with tone, perspective and mark-making—discovering ways to create energy and drama within your paintings. These studies will lead into a more developed piece, where you can begin to bring your ideas together in a personal and expressive way.

Ideal for those with some experience as well as beginners looking to build confidence, this session is designed to loosen your approach, refresh your thinking, and help you move forward with greater freedom in your painting.

An enjoyable workshop which will give you core skills you can develop and have fun with. The St. Ives School of Painting is a friendly and welcoming place for all levels of ability, class sizes are kept small to create a nurturing environment for all.

Timings and Breaks

The workshop will run from 13.30pm until 16:30pm. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time so you can check in at reception and get settled in. We will serve tea and coffee at break times during the workshop.
