An afternoon of letting Acrylic Paint, Oil Bars and Inks become like the sea…rolling, splattering, moving, dragged and poured.

Inspired by Joan Eardley, we will use big brushes, rollers, rags and fingers to evoke a sense of the sea in several paintings and drawings. This session will be more about process than outcome, with ideas to pursue later.

The St. Ives School of Painting is a friendly and welcoming place for all levels of ability, class sizes are kept small to create a nurturing environment for all.

Please note: This is an adult workshop, however we would welcome children aged 14 or over, if accompanied by a paying adult. This is the case as we cannot guarantee that all our tutors have been DBS checked.

My practice begins with drawing, often taking me to wild and wonderful parts of Cornwall, capturing fleeting moments where light and colour create atmosphere and expression. These underpin my largely figurative paintings, which convey a sense of incompleteness; of place and mystery.
