Alison Orchard
I love the interaction with students; the excitement and ideas that flow when a group comes together. Demonstrating and sharing painting techniques in person, answering questions, gently guiding and nudging artists to find their own ways to express their creative ideas is so rewarding.

Alison Orchard studied sculpture and painting before completing her Illustration degree at Harrow College, University of Westminster. She initially built a successful career as a commercial illustrator and designer before pivoting fully into fine art with her first solo exhibition, Arvor, in 2009. She has since exhibited with prominent galleries both in the UK and overseas, and her work has a growing following.
Alison’s paintings arise from a lifelong conversation with the landscape, shaped by years of experience painting the wild Cornish coast and the landscape surrounding her Hampshire studio. Her practice typically includes the use of acrylics or oils, often incorporating pastel, texture, collage or stitching. A strong foundation in drawing and observation is central to Alison’s values and process.
