Legacy Gifts

By leaving us a gift in your will, you will help to secure St Ives School of Painting’s future for the next generation of artists.

Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Thank you for considering leaving a gift in your will to St Ives School of Painting. Your generosity will help shape the future of the School and help us continue providing a space where creativity and learning thrive.

As a registered charity since 2000, our mission has been to enrich lives by nurturing creative potential. A gift in your will is more than a financial contribution, it is a lasting legacy that helps us continue our work for generations to come. It ensures that future students, many of whom may not otherwise have access to the arts, can discover and develop their creativity in a place that has inspired artists for over 85 years.

By remembering the School in your will, you become part of its story. Your kindness will be honoured not only by those who work and visit here today, but by the artists of tomorrow who will benefit from your support. Through your generosity, future students will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired through creativity.

Your bequest can help sustain and grow our educational programmes, opening doors for emerging artists for years to come, and helping us to support some of the most vulnerable young people across Cornwall through our Youth Programme.

There are also financial benefits to charitable giving through your will. If you leave 10% or more of your taxable estate to charity, the value of your gift will be exempt from Inheritance Tax, and the remainder of your estate may be taxed at a reduced rate of 36% rather than 40%.

Ways to Give

  • Pecuniary Gift – A fixed sum of money or a specific item of value.
  • Residuary Bequest – A percentage of your estate, allowing your gift to retain its value over time.
  • Reversionary Bequest – A gift that comes to the School after the passing of a spouse or other loved one, ensuring their needs are met first.
  • Codicil – An amendment to an existing will that allows you to add a charitable gift without rewriting the entire document.

If you are considering leaving a gift or would like more information, we would be honoured to speak with you. Together, we can ensure that creativity continues to flourish in the St Ives art scene for generations to come.
